RSS feeds
Post new YouTube videos, podcast episodes, releases and blog posts in a channel automatically.
Add a feed
Open RSS Feeds in your server's dashboard and press Add feed. Pick where the posts come from: YouTube, Bluesky, Mastodon, GitHub, Steam, or any website or feed link. Paste the channel, account or link and press Look up. Nighthawk finds the feed and lists its newest posts, so you can tell it is the right one before anything is saved.
Choose where and how it posts
Pick the channel the posts land in, and whether they come from Nighthawk or from a webhook with the feed's own name and picture (a webhook needs Manage Webhooks in that channel). Add up to five roles to ping. A card shows the title, a short summary and the picture; Link only posts the link so Fluxer shows its own preview. The message box takes {title}, {link}, {summary}, {author}, {date} and {pings}, and the preview beside it is the exact post.
Filter what gets posted
Under Filters and timing, keyword filters keep only posts that mention a word, or skip posts that do. YouTube feeds can skip Shorts, livestreams or regular videos, and GitHub feeds follow releases, commits or tags. Check every sets how often Nighthawk looks, from every 10 minutes to every 6 hours.
Podcasts and long feeds
Paste a podcast's RSS link under Website or feed: its host (RedCircle, Libsyn, Buzzsprout and the like) shows it, and the show's site usually links it. A feed that lists years of episodes is fine. Nighthawk reads only the newest part of a long feed, ending after the last whole episode, so new episodes post as they come out. The rare feed that lists its oldest episodes first cannot be read that way and says it is too large.
What gets posted
When a feed is added, Nighthawk notes what is already in it and posts none of it, so an old backlog never floods the channel. From then on it posts each new item once, oldest first and at most five per check. Nothing in a feed can ping anyone: only the roles you picked are pinged. Test on a saved feed posts its newest item right away, so you can see how it looks.
When a feed has a problem
Each feed shows what it did last: when it last posted, or why it could not. A site that stops answering is checked less often until it recovers, a feed whose channel is deleted is paused, and a webhook feed that loses Manage Webhooks posts as Nighthawk instead and says so. Switch a feed off to pause it without losing its settings.
Manage feeds from chat
n!rss setup walks through adding a feed as a conversation. n!rss add <link> [#channel] [@role] adds one in a single message, n!rss list shows every feed with its number and status, n!rss preview <link> shows what a source would post, and n!rss test, pause, resume and remove take a feed's number. A community can follow up to 25 feeds.
