RSS feeds

Your community already follows creators, game studios and projects somewhere else. Feeds bring their new posts into the channel you choose as soon as they appear, looking the way you want, without anyone pasting links by hand.

Set up RSS feeds

What you get

  • YouTube, Bluesky, Mastodon, GitHub, Steam and any RSS, Atom or JSON feed
  • Podcasts and long feeds, read from their newest episodes
  • Cards or plain links, your own message, role pings and webhook names
  • Keyword filters, and YouTube feeds that skip Shorts, livestreams or videos

How it works

Paste a channel, account or link and Nighthawk finds the feed: a YouTube @handle, a Bluesky or Mastodon handle, a GitHub repository, a Steam store page, or any site that advertises a feed. The wizard lists the newest posts before you save and previews the exact message.

Podcasts work like any other feed: paste the show's RSS link from its host or its site. A feed that lists years of episodes is no problem, because Nighthawk reads only its newest part, so a long-running show is followed as easily as a blog.

Each feed posts in the channel you pick, as Nighthawk or as a webhook with the feed's own name and picture, pings up to five roles and can carry your own message with {title}, {link} and more. Keyword filters keep or skip posts by what they say.

A new feed never floods a channel with its backlog, and nothing in a feed can ping @everyone. Every feed shows what it last posted or why it could not, backs off from a site that stops answering, and can be paused, tested and managed from chat with n!rss.
