Cases & moderation
How every moderation action becomes a searchable, permanent case.
Creating a case
Use n!warn, n!mute, n!kick, n!ban or n!tempban. Each command stores the target user, acting moderator, reason, timestamp and action type as a numbered case. You can also create cases manually with n!addcase for actions taken outside the bot.
Viewing and searching cases
In the dashboard, open the Cases page for your server. Filter by member, moderator, reason or action type. Use n!case <number> or n!searchcases to find cases directly from chat.
Hidden cases
Mark sensitive cases as hidden. They stay out of public case listings but remain part of the audit trail for senior staff who have permission to view them.
Editing and updating cases
If a reason needs to be corrected or a case needs a note, use the dashboard case view or the n!editcase command. Every update is recorded so the audit trail stays accurate.
DMs and notifications
Nighthawk can DM users when they are warned, muted, kicked or banned. Configure DM templates in the dashboard to keep your communication consistent and professional.
