Ban appeals
Give banned users a fair way to appeal and review submissions from one inbox.
Create a form
In the dashboard, go to Appeals > Forms and add questions such as “Why do you think you should be unbanned?” and “What will you do differently?”. You can create multiple forms for different rule categories.
Configure the basics
Turn appeals on or off for your community from the Appeals tab in Configuration. You can set how many hours after a ban a member must wait before they can appeal, and choose whether an approved appeal automatically DMs the user a fresh invite link so they can rejoin.
Review and discuss
Moderators with the right permissions can review each submission in the inbox, read the original ban case alongside it and add internal notes for the rest of the team. If your server has published an encryption key, appeals and internal notes are end-to-end encrypted and each moderator needs that key in their browser to read them. See the Encryption guide.
Accept or deny
Accepting an appeal unbans the user and records the decision automatically as a new case. Denying leaves the ban in place and logs the decision for future reference.
