Mute & warn appeals
Let members appeal a mute or warning through a private ticket that staff approve or deny.
How it works
An appeal ticket is a ticket tied to one mute or warn case. The member follows a link in their punishment DM, picks the case, and the bot opens a private ticket that shows the case with its moderator and reason. Staff talk it through with the member and decide with approve or deny.
Create an appeal template
In Tickets › Templates, the Appeal templates card holds these. Start from the mute appeal or warn appeal preset, or build your own and choose whether it appeals mutes or warnings. Questions, opening message, category and staff rank work like in any other template.
Put the link in the DM
Add {appealTicketLink} to the warn DM or the mute DMs under Configuration. It is only filled in when tickets are on and a matching appeal template exists, and stays empty otherwise. The checklist under each DM message shows what your server still needs.
Mutes need a mute role
A muted member has to be able to write in their appeal ticket. With a mute role, the bot opens the ticket channel to them. A native timeout stops a member from writing anywhere and cannot be lifted for one channel, so set a mute role under Configuration › Mutes before you rely on mute appeals.
Approve or deny
n!ticket approve [reason] lifts the mute or hides the warning, then closes the ticket. The case gains a link to the appeal, so anyone reading it later sees why it was overturned. If the mute has already run out, the appeal is simply recorded as approved. n!ticket deny [reason] leaves the punishment in place and closes the ticket.
Ban appeals are separate
A banned member cannot see your server, so they cannot use a ticket. They appeal through the web form described in the Ban appeals guide.
