Honeypot channels
Spam bots post everywhere they can, including the one channel that tells everyone not to. A honeypot channel turns that habit into a tripwire: the first message there fires your rule.
What you get
- Fires on any message in a trap channel
- Punishment is any automod action: delete, timeout, kick or ban
- Posts and keeps its own "do not post here" notice
- Bots, Nighthawk and exempt roles are skipped automatically
How it works
Pick one or more trap channels in an automod rule with the honeypot trigger. Hide them from real members with channel permissions or name them so nobody would post there, and let spam bots find them on their own.
The rule can carry a message that Nighthawk posts in the trap channel when you save it, and edits in place whenever you change the text, so the warning is always up to date.
Because it is an ordinary automod rule, it gets the usual exemptions and logging, and every catch lands in your automod log with the message that triggered it.
